Fastcomet Hosting is ok for the pricing (i paid $106 for 3 years). I found their performance to be on the slower side of things. I haven't hosted with them long enough to say if it is a one off hiccup or if my server was overloaded but I won't be hosting anything important on the account and will probably cancel once the time is up if things don't improve.

These guys rock! I accidentally destroyed my website but Ivan from their customer support team assisted me and got me back and running very quickly.

I must fall in their most hated customer category group as I typically need a lot of support. With that being said, they have always been very responsive and never showed any indication that they'd just rather I stop contacting them.
Keep it up FastComet! You are the BEST hosting provider, period.

My favourite thing about FastComet is their support. Responses typically within 15 minutes is crazy good in this industry.

I originally signed up to Go Daddy but switched for numerous reasons. A friend who works for a good sized server company recommended FastComet and I am glad I made the switch.
I hope as my site grows I’ll be able to easily upgrade. In fact that was one of my key selling points, when queried, your sales chat didn’t try to upsell me on a higher plan and welcomed me on the entry level package so I was very impressed.

We have recommended FastComet to dozens of our customers. We just learnt they have an affiliate program so now we'll even get paid for those referrals! Great company, great affiliate offering.

Fastcoemt is my goto web hosting provider. I use them for various projects such as school projects to hobbies I have. Whenever I need something online, they're who I go to and can safely recommend them to others.

FastComet is the most responsive, flexible, and understanding professional Internet Presence Provider I have dealt with in the last 20 years. George Penzenik

I highly recommend FastComet to my clients. The initial prices are cheap with the renewal being reasonable for what you get, the support is fast and they use cPanel still. A winning formula that I hope sticks!

Fastcomet never disappoints. What makes them different is their very high resource allocation on their shared hosting products (Up to 6 CPU cores and 6 GB ram for $7.95/mo? I'll take it!) :)
You might not have heard of FastComet before, but that is OK. They are smaller compared to their most significant competitors but that in itself is not a bad thing. FastComet is at the size where it can provide you with a personal hosting experience yet not small enough for your website to be at risk of them going out of business.
We purchased a test account (FastComet's FastCloud Shared Hosting plan), installed WordPress, and a demo theme containing what you'd expect from a regular website (images, text, and other website content) to create this review. We have then been monitoring their uptime, performance, and customer support.
FastComet was founded in 2013, making it one of the industry's newer upcoming web hosting providers. They are based in San Francisco, California, and have a large office in Plovdiv, Bulgaria (Eastern Europe), home to roughly 80 employees.
Since its inception, FastComet has grown to host over 50,000 clients in eleven datacenter locations which is no small feat. With so many data center locations on offer, you can host your website closest to your visitors, giving them a performance boost.
You can currently purchase a hosting package in any of the following locations:
So, everything so far appears to be looking good on paper but can a newer entry to the market compete on the level of service provided by those founded ten years prior? Let's find out!
When we evaluate a web hosting provider, we primarily test 3 aspects which we collectively call the 'Hostimony Core.' These three components are uptime, customer support, and performance, as we believe this is what you as an end-user will care about most.
You pay your web hosting provider to do one thing, to make your website accessible on the web, so naturally, uptime is a crucial component when choosing a web hosting provider. While every provider
can have an issue, how they resolve those issues and more importantly, how often they have issues is what separates one hosting provider from another.
FastComet sported a very impressive uptime averaging 99.999% since February 2021, with our monitoring tool only reporting 4 minutes worth of downtime (a 3-minute outage in March and a 1-minute outage in April).
It is worth noting; the 1-minute outage could have been a false positive. It is common for monitoring scripts to be temporarily blocked. With our monitors set to check each website once per minute, any outage will register as a full minute regardless.
Overall, we're very impressed with the uptime for our test website.
Quality customer support can make or break a web hosting provider. It is the difference between a happy customer making word-of-mouth referrals and an unhappy customer recommending another hosting company.
As a smaller web hosting company, we were interested in seeing what FastComet could deliver, and we were pleasantly surprised. You know a company takes their customer service seriously when most of their team works in a customer support facing role. FastComet's commitment to their customers is evident given they have two support departments, Customer Success and Customer Service, which is unheard of for a budget provider.
At FastComet, you will be able to contact their customer support teams over multiple channels, including:
Sadly they do not offer phone support though we can forgive this with the live chat responding virtually instantly.
To put their support to the test, we created a few live chat sessions and support tickets to gauge how quickly they responded and the quality of those responses. To keep it short, FastComet did not disappoint.
FastComet also features numerous self-service tools covering everything you might need. If you view their knowledge base or tutorials section, you'll instantly realize they have put significant efforts into making these resources available to you.
If you are more of a self-service type, then you'll be thrilled with FastComet. Their knowledge base is one of the richest knowledge bases we have seen. Coupled with their Tutorial series (guides on numerous software platforms) you know they take the self-service systems seriously.
Performance is another crucial component of web hosting. A faster website is naturally going to see reduced bounce rates, higher conversion rates, and higher rankings in search engines. If you are running a serious website, performance should never be an afterthought.
Studies have shown a few-second delay can result in your bounce rate shooting as high as 32%!
February 2021, which is very respectable. Not the fastest, but far from the slowest.
FastComet doesn't joke around when it comes to data center locations. While it is the industry norm to offer 2 - 3 locations (One in the US, Europe, and Asia), FastComet takes it up a notch, offering eleven!
Thanks to these locations, you can host your website on a server that is closest to the majority of your website audience, resulting in reduced bounce rates and higher conversion rates if you're running an eCommerce store.
As a reminder, you can choose any of the following data center locations:
FastComet is one of few web hosting companies to have an excellent monthly billing cycle option. Typically we find companies require you to prepay 1, 2, or 3 years and those that have a monthly option will require you to pay a setup fee or lose on any discounts.
That is not the case with FastComet. You can signup and pay the monthly rate without any added taxes or fees.
To sum this benefit up, the price you see on their website is the price you'll pay regardless of which billing cycle you opt for. We like this approach!
Of course, prepaying has its advantages of locking in the promotional intro rate for a more extended period.
While sadly not a free domain registration, FastComet does offer a free domain transfer with their Shared Hosting packages. If you have an existing domain, you can move it to FastComet at no additional cost, and as part of that, your domain name will renew for one year at no extra cost.
All of the FastComet web hosting packages include generous resource allocations, ensuring your website has the resources it needs to scale without being throttled.
To put this into perspective, their FastCloud Extra plan (starting at $7.95/mo) comes standard with 6 CPU Cores and 6 GB of RAM. This is more than most entry-level Fully Managed VPS packages at competing hosting providers!
The resource allocations for all of the Shared Hosting plans:
One thing to remember is that no hosting company is perfect, including FastComet, although we feel they come close! Here are the key disadvantages we found when testing FastComet:
The price advertised on the FastComet website represents a hefty discount (typically anywhere from 60 - 70%). This discount will only last for the initial billing term and renew at the regular rates which are the same for each billing cycle.
While the increase is more reasonable on their VPS and Dedicated CPU servers (primarily due to the smaller discount, typically 15 - 20% off), their Shared Hosting does see a very significant jump.
To make up for that, you can lock in the promotional rate for up to 3 years when signing up. We'd also note the renewal prices are not entirely unreasonable when you factor in the resources allocated to each plan.
You could have received a free domain registration with their Shared Hosting packages several years ago though this was discontinued with them citing abuse.
The move is understandable. After all, you can purchase a shared hosting plan for as low as $3.95/mo with no guarantee a customer will renew, yet the domain would cost FastComet up to $10 for the domain alone.
When choosing a package, you can choose from three different types of hosting environments: Shared Hosting, Cloud VPS Hosting, and a Dedicated CPU server lineup.
Shared Hosting is FastComet's bread and butter. Simply it is what they're known for. They currently offer three packages with prices ranging from $3.95/mo to $7.95/mo. The key differences between these packages are the number of websites, resources (CPU & RAM), and storage allocation.
|FastCloud||FastCloud Plus||FastCloud Extra|
|Storage||15 GB SSD||25 GB SSD||35 GB SSD|
|CPU Cores||2 vCPUs||4 vCPUs||6 vCPUs|
|RAM / Memory||2 GB||3 GB||6 GB|
|Free Domain Transfer||Yes||Yes||Yes|
There are 4 Cloud VPS Hosting packages to choose from. These plans come fully managed and are also available in 11 data center locations. These servers use pure SSD drives and AMD EPYC CPUs, so they are great if you're looking for a performance driver.
|Cloud 1||Cloud 2||Cloud 3||Cloud 4|
|CPU Cores||1 @ 2.5 GHz||2 @ 2.5 GHz||4 @ 2.5 GHz||6 @ 2.5 GHz|
|RAM / Memory||2 GB||4 GB||8 GB||16 GB|
|Storage||50 GB SSD||80 GB SSD||160 GB SSD||320 GB SSD|
|Bandwidth||2 TB||4 TB||5 TB||8 TB|
|Control Panel||cPanel / WHM||cPanel / WHM||cPanel / WHM||cPanel / WHM|
Their Dedicated CPU Servers can easily be mistaken for a Dedicated Server, but sadly they're not. They're still a Cloud VPS server with a sneaky marketing trick to play off as a dedicated server.
What makes them different from the regular Cloud VPS counterpart is that the CPU cores are dedicated to you. As a result, you will be able to use the CPU allocated to you 24/7 without fear of being throttled should other users on the server also consume their CPU allocations. The other resources on the server (memory, I/O etc.) is fairly distributed among other VPS tenants.
Dedicated CPU VPS Servers also come in 4 packages offering an increasing number of resources for your websites:
|DS 1||DS 2||DS 3||DS 4|
|CPU Cores||2x AMD EPYC||4x AMD EPYC||8x AMD EPYC||16x AMD EPYC|
|RAM / Memory||4 GB||8 GB||16 GB||32 GB|
|Storage||80 GB SSD||160 GB SSD||320 GB SSD||640 GB SSD|
|Bandwidth||4 TB||5 TB||6 TB||7 TB|
|Control Panel||cPanel / WHM||cPanel / WHM||cPanel / WHM||cPanel / WHM|
A free website migration policy is commonplace in the web hosting space, but FastComet is one of very few companies to mean it and is one reason we rank them highly on our website.
It has been common for us to see web hosting providers have sneak policies in their migration terms, such as the requirement to use the same control panel (typically cPanel) or limit the migration to a single website.
Thankfully, FastComet does things a little differently. On request, they will move your website for you regardless of how many websites you currently host, and there no limitation on the source control panel. Simply, if they adopt a policy of if they can move it, they will -- no additional fees.
Once they have migrated your website over, it is recommended to manually review the contents before you update your nameservers to ensure a successful migration. Once this has been completed, you can update your nameservers and enjoy the FastComet experience.
They are a smaller, lesser-known web hosting company, yet they are rapidly growing, and we can see why. Through our testing, they have proven that a new web hosting provider can provide a service on the same level (or better) than those that have many more years under their belt.
What sets FastComet apart from their competitors is how they take away many of the tricks plaguing the web hosting industry, such as advertising rates that don't apply to smaller billing cycles or free migrations that are so limited they become useless.
With all the things considered, we can safely recommend FastComet to our audience.
